Jagged Fence

Who We Are

Jagged Fence Theatre (JFT) is a theatre company and registered charity.

We are committed to creating diverse, accessible work through commissioning original stage adaptations of novels, promoting emerging talent, and producing innovative participatory events.

We are a base for fresh, fearless creativity, and artistic ambition. We want to create rich, challenging experiences for our participants and audiences alike, and are driven by a desire to challenge attitudes and affect social change.  Through our new commissions, outreach work and participatory events, we confront and debate prevalent issues that face society and act as a mouthpiece for unheard voices.  We have a reputation for creating bold, original work and promoting exceptional new talent.

Education

We an aim to implement a change within theatre, whereby all people are given an opportunity to achieve, nurturing and developing young people”s potential. We not only deliver quality performance arts training but ensure that each child gets the most out of their experience by building life skills and confidence while having a lot of fun and meeting new friends.

Every student from aged 4-18 years participates in each of the three musical theatre disciplines – Drama, Dance and Singing. Each 3 hour session for 6-18 year old is split into three 1-hour classes, where young people get the chance to learn each skill in small class sizes of similar ages. Children aged 4-6 years are introduced to Early Classes which run for a shorter period of 90 minutes, split into three 30 minute sessions in dance, drama and singing. As we keep class sizes small (15 maximum) we are able to nurture young raw talent alongside encouraging and inspiring those who might need additional confidence building.
